Creating Content That Serves Your Community Well

If you’re here, you’re probably wondering the same thing that many other business owners are – How do I create content that is interesting to my community and serves a purpose in their lives?

Before digging in, let’s talk about what a COMMUNITY looks like!

The definition of a community is:

COMMUNITY – A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals.

Your community and your brand go hand in hand. How amazing is it that we have a community of people who love what we love and want to know what we bring to the table? Before you keep reading, think about your community and who they are. Keep that in mind for the remainder of this post because those are the special people who you are serving, and you know them best.

You see, when it comes to creating content, one size does not fit all. There isn’t a simple answer because each brand and business is completely unique, but one thing that we all have in common is this:

THE CONTENT THAT YOU PUT OUT SHOULD BENEFIT YOUR COMMUNITY.

Creating content for your brand can and should be inspiring! We know that it’s easy to get in a rut, but when you are creating content that brings you joy – you’ll be more creative, inspired, and overall happier with the brand that you created! Additionally, social media can be an amazing, productive space if we use it to lift each other up and add value to each other’s lives. We have all gone down the hole of comparison and said something like, “Their business is succeeding, what are we doing wrong?” But remember! You can admire someone else’s beauty without questioning your own. Your brand brings something unique and different from any other business. People love what you provide them. So keep up the good work and stay inspired!

Here are a few simple steps that you could take to serve your community well:

  1. Ask your community and followers what they want to see more of. Listen to what they need and what’s important to them.
  2. More behind the scenes – Your audience wants to know you! We believe that our community connects with us when we share more about who we are. Every community is different, but we can almost guaranty that your community wants to know more about all the hard work that you do to run your business!
  3. Odds are, if it brings you joy – it will also bring your community joy.
  4. Bring something new to the table! Who doesn’t love a new idea?

The moral of the story is: Your brand is yours. You know your community the best! Make sure to ask questions, listen with an open mind, and learn from your community. But most of all, bring something of value to your community that will benefit and help them grow!
